More About Thompson's Station Tennessee

Thompson's Station is a town located just 25 miles outside of Nashville, just inside the hills and plains of the countryside of Middle Tennessee. This makes the Town of Thompson's Station a great place to live. The area was settled during the first wave of migration began from the east heading into the County's untapped interior. Many settled around the Nashville area. In 1780 Edward Swanson became the first to stake claim to land in the Harpeth River Valley. The town was known as White house, then Littlebury - it wasn't until 1856 when the town was named after Elijah Thompson. In 1990 Thompson's station became incorporated and became the Town of Thompson's Station.
